Poland break scoring record in 75-29 win over USA
Poland recorded their first biggest win in the 18th match of Kabaddi World Cup 2016. Poland put up a brilliant show against defending champions USA to win by a margin of 46 points at The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad here today. The final scores read (75-29). After a low-scoring start, the score stood at 5-2 at the three-minute mark. However, that was soon to change as the defending champions showed their class and pulled off a massive spree to garner a nine-point lead at the 5th min mark. Some rock solid defending by the Poland side combined with some expert raiding by Michal Spiczko saw them all out at the 5th min mark and take the score to 13-4. The winners, who were leading 37-14, took time to settle down but thereafter opened up a sizable lead which continued till end. Skipper Michal Spiczko set the trend with a successful raid and Piotr Pamulak took the cue to lead his team to engineer the first all-out by the 5th minute. The famed USA defense failed to check Michal Spiczko in the first half and as veteran Patryk Dumicz too got going it became more difficult for the USA to arrest the slide. It resulted in the second all-out in the 10th minute and the winners were firmly in the driver’s seat at 21-6 by then. Only Kevin Caldwell with two seven tackle points and Dillyon Banks contributed eight raid points made some impact for the USA. Jakub Kloskowski and Piotr Pamulak who had devastated many a defense on their way to the semis looked like harmless warriors without arms and ammunition.
