England remained in the hunt for a play-off berth with a well-deserved 68-28 win over Argentina in Kabaddi World Cup 2016 at The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad here today. Mariano Pascual was the lone warrior for the Argentina as he won 6 points while Tope Adewalure with 19 points, Keshav Gupta with 10 points and skipper Someshwar Kalia with 13 points shone for the England. The defending champions England was strong both in defends and attack which initially destroyed the rivals’ defense. In the first half itself they have taken a huge lead of 31-9 against Argentina and when it came to the second half England toyed with their opponents to emerge an easy 68-28 victory. England took an early 2-point lead by the 4th minute, but Mariano Pascual got the crowd on their feet when he conjured up 4 points from his raid to reduce the opponents to just 2 men. However, Roman Cesaro and Rafael Acevedo got England players out in a super tackle.Tope Adewalure completed the all out in the 12th minute when he got the remaining 2 players out, this giving his side a 16-6 lead. The second half too saw England dominating the proceedings. They led 33-9 and soon enforced third all out in the match to take 53-19 to demoralize Argentina. The top two spots are now occupied by REPUBLIC OF KOREA with 15 points, followed by India with 11 points in three outings each. England has climbed to third place above Bangladesh with 10 and 6 points respectively.
