India beat Australia easily at 54-20 and recorded their first victory in the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 at The Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad. Deepak Hooda and Manjeet Chhillar starred for the India with 6 and 5 points respectively, while Kuldeep Singh and Campbell scored 7 and 6 points for the Australia team. After a cautious start the winners inflicted the first all out in the 7th minute to go ahead 10-0 up and the half-time score of 32-7 was proof enough of their intentions. The India took the lead in the 3rd minute and a minute later the lead was extended to 6-0 by Pardeep Narwal’s raid. India inflicted four all outs on Aussies. The next all-out also came in quickly in the 11th minute. The lead was widened to 35-7 at the start of the second half. The relentless pace took its toll on the losers.
