Iran win a thriller against Japan (38-34)



Iran kept their chances of making the semi-finals in the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 alive with a narrow 38-34 win over Japan at The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad here today Iran won by a lead of 4 points (38-34) against Japan. They laid the foundation of the win in the first half with a (19-9) 10 points lead and carried the same form in the second half to emerge winners. Skipper Masayuki Shimokawa restored parity with eight raid points on Meraj Sheykh. However, Meraj Sheykh and Abolfazl Maghsoudlou completed all outs on the Japan. The defenders came to the fore again. The Irans’ Fazel Atrachali Farhad Milaghardan and Soleiman Pahlevani played well. Iran has played four matches and won all of them. At the end of the match, Iran remains at first place in the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 points table with 20 points. Japan played four matches and won two of them and is placed third with 11 points.
