Steady All round Performance Wins Jaipur Pink Panthers A Close Encounter With Bengaluru Bulls
Better planning and perfect execution of their planned strategy gave Jaipur Pink Panthers a well-deserved 24-22 victory over hosts Bengaluru Bulls at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium,Bengaluru
The strong backing of their supporters only helped them to whittle down the margin and claim a valuable point.
The man who teased and tormented his rivals as well as the crowd was the pint-sized Jaipur raider Jasvir Singh. Known more for his scorpion kicks, he resorted to a cleverly planned strategy which proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Add to that the absence of number one raider Rohit Kumar for almost fifteen minutes from the court made matters difficult for the Bengaluru Bulls. Jaipur were well served by the silent but strong Jasvir. This raider gave them five points in 15 raids. Amit Hooda and Ran Singh provided solidarity in defense for the winners.
As Jaipur successfully employed their plans they were able to inflict the all out at 10-5 and go off for the break at 16-10. The match was tightly contested after the break with both teams specially Bengaluru resorting to quick empty raids to invite the rival raiders for the do-or-die raids. They succeeded to a certain extent with Amit Rathee,Mohit ,Surender Nada and Rohit bringing them back from 11-16 to 17-17 with 10 minutes left. Ashish and Rohit then brought down the difference to two with an all-out as for once Jasvir miscalculated the do-or-die raid and got out to concede a crucial point. The game was bound for a photo finish. The raiders kept the scoreboard ticking.
But ,again, Bengaluru Bulls were down to 5 men as Surender Nada miscalculated the importance of dying moments and let Pawan Sehrawat for do or die raid instead of in form Rohit Kumar who was available on the mat.
They caught Pawan and Bengaluru Bulls could not overturn the lead in the final few seconds.
