Sensational win for Bengaluru Bulls; last raid blues for Puneri Paltan
Rohit Kumar’s decisive raid in the last minute of the match helped Bengaluru Bulls edge past Puneri Paltan 29-27 in a heart stopping thriller.
Rohit Kumar started the proceedings with a point in his first raid, but Deepak Hooda gave the Puneri Paltan the lead in the very next minute with a super raid. Ravinder Pahal gave the Puneri Paltan a 2-point lead in the 6th minute, but it wasn’t long before the Bengaluru Bulls restored parity through Mohit’s tackle two minutes later.
By the half time it was the bulls who lead 10-8 and were executing the plan their coach had asked them to, play on the do or die raids only
Deepak and Defense of Pune and reduced the visitors to just 1 man. But, the lone man standing was Ashish Kumar, who, not only prevented an all out, but took out Ravinder Pahal for his team. Then the Bulls inflicted two super tackles in two high pressure situations and kept the scoes level.By the 31st minute, Puneri Paltan had restored their lead to 5 minutes and once again put the Bengaluru Bulls on the verge of an all out.
But everytime Pune increased the lead Bengaluru would strike out of nowhere and get it reduced.
Manjeet Chillar whose probability of success was very low against two defenders went to inflict an all out and got caught to narrow the gap.
The margin grew wider at 23-26 and with the match entering the 35th minute Bengaluru Bulls.
However, they were helpless in front of Rohit Kumar who single-handedly, made a 3-point super raid with 2 minutes to go. Despite the best efforts of Puneri Paltan , the Bengaluru Bulls did not let their lead slip for the last two minutes of the half.
Puneri Paltan came close to winning the match but the win was snatched away by the Bulls.
