Bengaluru Bulls suffer a 24-32 loss at home to Telugu Titans
Telugu Titans beat Bengaluru Bulls for the first time in this Season of the Pro Kabaddi League by a 32-24 margin on an eventful day .
In a slow start, it took up to 2 minutes for either team to notch up the first point of the match when Rahul was tackled unsuccessfully by Bengaluru Bulls team. However, in the resulting raid, Telugu Titans returned the favor by catching hold of Rohit Kumar. The home team took a 2-point lead in the 7th minute through Rohit Kumar’s successful raid and a bold, yet successful, tackle on Nilesh Salunke.
But, the visitors came roaring back as they took just 3 minutes to level the score at 5 each. Buoyed by an energetic home support, Bengaluru men took a 3-point lead (9-6) with 8 minutes to go in the half. Despite the home team’s best efforts, the visitors hit back once again in the first half and increased the lead to 8 points as the score board read 18-10.
For Bengaluru Bulls who were shot out three times in the match by their rivals their lead raiders Rohit Kumar and Surender Nada excelled with few points respectively in a high scoring match which was dominated by the attackers.
Inspite of a cagey first half, the second half started with a flurry of points when Rahul Chaudhary won 2 points for the visiting team in his raid. Mahendra Rajput hit back with a point for his team in the next raid, but in the 32th minute, Nilesh Salunke, showed his quality by returning with 2 points to create further space between the two teams.
The Telugu Titans extended their lead to 8 points with 3 minutes left on the clock. At this stage, all the home team could hope for was a defeat by 7 points or less as that would ensure they would win 1 point. With both the teams separated by just 7 points, the visitors raider Prapanjan took a point in the buzzer raid to deny the Bulls even that joy as they completed a dominant win.
