Resurgence of Pink Panthers in Season 3
In the inaugural edition of Pro Kabaddi , Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated U Mumba to claim the title after a display of a combination of good defense and superb offense. This was not the case in the second season as they missed out on the semifinal berth by a margin of few points.
Let us see what were the reasons behind this dismal performance from the champions of Season 1.
Jasvir Singh’s fair drop in raid points was the first reason for the Panthers to miss out on a semi berth and they also missed their star raider of season -1 Maninder Singh. This cost them a lot of raid points as sometimes he was the single driving force in raid points and used to conjure points where it didn’t even exist. The mystery is that even after his solid performance in season 1, we don’t know where he is!!We still wonder where he vanished to!
Ran Singh, Rajesh Narwal, Sonu Narwal and Kuldeep Singh have been ticking points in their raids but someone has to be a star raider and take up the role of Maninder Singh as if they desperately need a star raider to score points as well as lead them from the front. If they dont have that they might not be the best team around and might end up on the wrong side of the table.
The only team whose tackle points in season 2 have a significant drop from season-1 of Pro Kabaddi.
Why did this happen?
As a defense unit, Jaipur Pink Panthers were pretty strong in the first season,
We could point out some reasons for their problems in defense. Navneet gautam and Rohit Rana were used less by the team
Using more all rounders on the pitch than proper defenders.
If they have to go into the semifinals, they must use proper defenders to get more tackle points .
Also their all rounders must perform better than last season.
They must bolter up their defense as now they don’t have Prashant chawan to rely upon as well.
As a team they have to work hard throughout the tournament and cause some huge upsets to get to the top 4 as all the other teams look very strong.
